Hello, I am Assoc. Prof. Dr. Clinical Psychologist Gizem Akcan
I completed my undergraduate education at METU Psychology, and my master and doctoral education at Istanbul Arel University Clinical Psychology. I received a TUBITAK Outstanding Achievement Scholarship throughout my undergraduate, graduate and doctoral education.
I have articles and book chapters written in Turkish and English published in national and international indexed journals.
I have been providing face-to-face and online consultancy in Turkish and English for approximately 11 years with adults and adolescents on individual therapy, relationship and couple therapy, family therapy, and parental counseling.
I continue to see clients with “Acceptance and Commitment Therapy”, “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy”, “Gottman Couple Therapy”, “Systematic Family Therapy” and “Art History Therapy”, which was developed by me and approved in 2023 and accepted as a new therapy method all over the world.
I also provide individual, corporate training and supervision training in my areas of expertise.
